Personnel brain-drain syndrome and quality healthcare delivery among public healthcare workforce in Nigeria

Purpose The mass exodus of the professional healthcare workforce has become a cankerworm for developing nation like Nigeria, and this worsens already depleted systems in underdeveloped nation. This study investigated rationale behind medical workers' brain-drain syndrome quality delivery Nigerian public sector. Design/methodology/approach To stimulate an understanding effect phenomenon called brain drain, adopted diagnostic research design to survey personnel government hospitals. administered battery adapted scales different measures confirm variables interest on probability sampling strategy. surveyed 450 sector employees from four hospitals gather pertinent data. used structural equation model (SEM) artificial neural networks (ANNs) analyse collected data Findings findings are significant as postulated. discovered that poor worklife experienced by was attributed delivery. further demonstrated job dissatisfaction suffered among forced migrate international labour market, same factor is reason Lastly, inadequate remuneration pay discouraged professionals allied workers being productive ultimately pushed them global market.
